ST AGNES DENTAL

St Agnes Dental has been providing exceptional, high quality dental care to the Adelaide community since 1969. Originally located in the St Agnes Shopping Centre we have now moved into our purpose built, state of the art, premises across the road at 1255 North East Road, Ridgehaven.

Going to the dentist shouldn’t be a stressful experience. We take great pride in providing honest, reliable service in a relaxed, comfortable and tranquil environment. We are a patient centred and family friendly practice. The majority of our patients come from referrals by their family and friends and we strive to live up to the reputation we are known for in providing the highest quality, professional and personalised treatment and service.

We believe that a healthy mouth leads to a healthy life. We have a holistic approach to dentistry and provide treatment options tailored to each individual. We do not preach to our patients but will work closely with you to provide the treatment you desire based on your personal beliefs, expectations, circumstances and budget. Often the emotional and psychological effects of poor teeth and a poor smile are overlooked but these can be corrected and improved using our latest cosmetic and tooth whitening techniques.

Our highly trained and experienced dentists use the latest in advanced dental materials and techniques. We are regularly upgrading our knowledge and skills through further study. Our dentists have worked in both private and public practices in both rural and city areas.

Our fantastic support team of receptionists and dental assistants have many years of experience in dentistry and take great pride in providing optimum customer service and care. It is not uncommon for us to care for four generations in the same family and this would not occur without the trust and support which we have also received from our community. We are truly humbled and grateful for this and hope to serve our community for many more years to come.

Our dedicated team of hygienists and oral health therapists provide you with outstanding care of the highest quality to look after your general dental health and oral hygiene. They provide a comprehensive, gentle and personalized service which is the foundation of ongoing dental health and wellbeing. Our dental therapists are also specially trained to care for children and young adults and to provide the education, treatment and support that will lead to a lifetime of perfect oral health. They work very closely at all times with our experienced dentists to ensure the best outcome is achieved.

At what age should I bring my child to the dentist?

Most children are ready and comfortable to see our dentist or oral health therapist for an examination at three years of age. Before this we recommend you bring your child in for a “quick look” appointment so that any obvious dental problems are detected and so that we can discuss good oral hygiene and diet in order to avoid any dental problems from occurring.

Children who have regular examinations are more comfortable when visiting their dentist, have fewer dental problems and develop good habits that then continue throughout their life.

How often should I visit the dentist?

At St Agnes Dental we recommend that most people have their teeth examined every 6 months. Regular appointments are essential in preventing dental problems, maintaining the health of your teeth and gums, and catching any dental problems in their early stages.

It is recognized that 6 monthly examinations of the mouth and teeth are essential. At St Agnes Dental we recognize that some people are unable to attend 6 monthly due to financial and/or time restraints. We are very happy to discuss and set up a recall schedule that suits your needs and circumstances. Please feel free to discuss this with any of our dental professionals.

Why do I need x-rays?

Dental problems often do not cause any pain or discomfort in their early stages. Decay may be present between teeth, under fillings or around crowns but not be visible when your teeth are examined. X-rays, or dental radiographs, are an essential part in diagnosing dental problems. Bitewing radiographs are taken, usually every 2 years, to allow us to see the areas where problems might be hiding.

A St Agnes Dental we have invested in the latest most advanced technology available in digital radiography. This provides you with the lowest exposure doses possible and provides us with the clearest most accurate images available.
