Gum disease (Periodontal Disease) is the inflammation and infection of the gums caused by plaque build-up. Plaque can harden to become calculus known also as tartar. These are caused by poor oral hygiene. In the early stages, plaque can damage the gums and cause it to be inflamed (gingivitis) and if left for prolonged periods may result in severe gum disease which is irreversible.

Orthodontic treatment can improve the appearance, health, and function of teeth and jaws. Some of the benefits of orthodontic treatment include:
Prevents gum damage in cases of deep bite
Decreases tooth wear
Proper bite
When to have an orthodontic assessment:
Most teeth crowding problems are apparent by 7-9 years of age. The best age for a child to have an orthodontic assessment is around 7-8 years of age.
Early Treatment
Usually relatively simple, involving minimum appliances and often done while baby teeth are still present
Full treatment best started when the last baby tooth is lost at about 12 years of age
Treatment may take longer in adults because their jawbones are denser, in such cases, orthodontic treatment in combination with jaw surgery may be needed
We will review the reports from both Dentist and Patient to give the best decision. It will take 3-5 business days for reviewing after receiving two reports.
