What is an Oral Health Therapist?

Oral health therapists are dental professionals who are dual qualified in dental therapy and dental hygiene. Oral health therapists provide dental care to children, adolescents and adults.

How often do I need to see the Dentist and Oral Health Therapist?

We recommend patients to see our Dentist and Oral Health Therapist every six months. Hygiene appointments are performed routinely and are essential for the treatment and prevention of gum disease, as well as aid in the early detection of tooth decay. Our team of experienced Oral Health Therapists are passionate about educating patients on brushing techniques, nutrition and other lifestyle factors to help maintain

good oral health for a lifetime.

What simple steps can I take to achieve healthy teeth and gums?

• Brush your teeth morning and night, make sure your toothbrush is soft and has a small head in order to get back to the hard to reach areas

• Brush gently, as your aim is to only loosen up the debris and rinse

• Replace your toothbrush every three months

• Remember to floss before bed time

• Use fluoride toothpaste

• Visit us regularly for examinations and cleanings

• Avoid smoking

• Avoid excessive alcohol consumption

How soon can I take my child to see the Dentist and Oral Health Therapist?

Children as young as 18 months can visit our office for their first appointment. They will meet our Dentist and Oral Health Therapist

who will look after your children’s teeth so they grow a healthy smile.

We provide dental services and will follow through with oral health

and dietary advice as well.
