Why am I here?
Your general dentist will often refer you to us for advice or treatment when:
Your bite doesn’t feel right
Missing teeth require replacement
Teeth are worn or heavily filled
Teeth, face or jaws are affected by trauma
Teeth are discoloured or misshaped
Previous treatment hasn’t worked as well as expected or requires replacement
Many factors and specialties might be involved in the treatment
Teeth require extraction, and to discuss tooth replacement options
There are jaw discrepancies
Orthodontic treatment alone is not enough
Do I need a referral?
A referral is not necessary to see a dental specialist.
We are often asked by referrers (eg. General dentists or specialists) to see patients for one or a few specific concerns and a referral from them will assist us to plan treatment with your referring clinician.
What will my initial visit involve?
The first visit includes a thorough discussion to find out about the problems, identifying their causes and coming up with several possible solutions. These solutions vary in advantages, disadvantages and costs. Further tests and specialist referrals might be necessary in order to clearly identify the causes. The prosthodontist can direct and coordinate these referrals, as necessary.
Will I still see my general dentist?
We work with your general dentist to provide you with a holistic service for your overall dental health.
It is important that you continue to see your general dentist for continuing treatment and maintenance including your routine general checkups. They are your first point of contact for general dental problems. The prosthodontic or surgical treatment might be short or continue over a longer time period and would also requires monitoring. Your particular requirements will be discussed at your first visit
WHAT WE DO
We are a specialist dental practice creating confidence through restorative dentistry.
FULL MOUTH RECONSTRUCTION
Full mouth reconstruction refers to rebuilding and/or replacing all the teeth in a patient’s mouth. Full mouth reconstruction combines aesthetics with the science of restorative dentistry to improve the health, function and appearance of the mouth.
BRIDGES
Are a way to replace a missing tooth or teeth without the need for an implant. Bridges are false teeth anchored in place by neighbouring teeth. The bridge consists of one or two crowns with a false tooth/tooth next to, or at its centre.
DENTURES
emovable or implant retained
Prosthetic devices that replace missing teeth. There are three types of dentures full, partial and implant retained.
VENEERS
Are strong thin pieces of ceramic (porcelain) or resin material that are bonded to the tooth or teeth. Veneers are used to repair chipped, misshaped, stained or damaged teeth and may help with closing gaps between teeth.
CROWNS AND CAPS
Dental restorations that protect damaged, cracked or broken teeth. Dental crowns often called caps as they sit over the entire part of the tooth that lies above the gum line.
DENTAL IMPLANTS
Artificial devices designed to replace the root of a missing tooth and roots of missing teeth. It can also be used to replace a whole arch of teeth safely and effectively.
COMPREHENSIVE DENTISTRY IN COLLABORATION WITH OTHER CLINICIANS
Prosthodontists are accustomed to working collaboratively with general and specialist dentists, ENTs, surgeons, general practitioners and many more clinical and allied health professionals where required to get the most optimal outcome.
ORAL APPLIANCES

Mandibular advancement splint for sleep apnea (anti-snoring device)
Mouthguards

MANAGEMENT OF TMD/TMJ PAIN
Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) when not functioning properly can cause severe jaw or facial pain. Prosthodontists are trained to diagnosis and treat Temporomandibular Discomfort (TMD). There are several treatment options depending on the severity of symptoms, often requiring co-ordinated treatment from multiple fields.
BONDING WITH TOOTH COLOURED FILLING MATERIALS
A restorative procedure that uses tooth coloured composite resin to repair teeth that are decayed, chipped, fractured or discoloured.
MAXILLOFACIAL PROSTHODONTICS
Involves the prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with defects or disabilities that were born (such as cleft lip or palette) or acquired through disease (such as oral cancers) or trauma.
We will review the reports from both Dentist and Patient to give the best decision. It will take 3-5 business days for reviewing after receiving two reports.
