Regular comprehensive dental check-ups can find problems early & identify potential issues before they become problematic. This avoids the need for major dental work in the future and is far more cost effective than allowing problems to go on undetected. Skipping dental appointments may not seem like a big deal, but oral issues can develop and progress extremely quickly whether or not you notice it. By keeping on top of your dental cleaning and checkups you’re doing yourself a big favour in the long run.
A full check-up involves checking the surfaces of all the teeth, the health of your gums, x-rays to check bone levels & underneath old fillings, and an oral cancer screening. Here at Aberfoyle Hub Dental we do checkups for all ages, from toddlers to seniors.
Dental Hygiene & Gum Disease Treatment
Even with the most diligent daily brushers and flossers, there are still small areas in the mouth that are missed by regular home care. When plaque builds up it becomes more difficult to remove, solidifying and turning into tartar, which is extremely difficult to get rid of without professional help. When tartar is not removed regularly it can result in gum disease & dental cavities.
People with gum disease have an inflammation of the gums and or bone that surround and support their teeth. Gum disease can affect patients of all ages and is one of the major factors contributing to bad breath, tooth pain and tooth loss.
Our gentle and thorough dental hygienists will help you with your regular maintenance visits, as well as giving you great professional advice on how to achieve optimal oral care at home.
Restorative dentistry involves correcting dental problems and conditions, which have arisen from injury, defect or decay, and restoring these teeth to health. For teeth which are cracked, chipped, decayed or even missing we offer a variety of restorative options to suit your needs. These include tooth coloured fillings, crowns, bridges & veneers.
Here at Aberfoyle Hub Dental Surgery we offer a variety of shades & materials in all of our restorative procedures to help you have a strong, healthy, vibrant smile. For a consultation & personalised quote just call us on (08) 8270 4911 or drop in to our office, conveniently located in Aberfoyle Hub in the Southern Suburbs of Adelaide.
Prosthetic dentistry is devoted to replacing missing teeth with artificial ones, helping to restore appearance & function. Missing teeth can be replaced with either a removable appliance, such as a denture (also called a plate) or with a permanently fixed dental implant.
Dentures (plates) can either replace an entire arch of upper or lower teeth, a few teeth, or even only one tooth. They can be made either entirely of a plastic material (acrylic) or can have a metal framework behind them.
Dental implants are a small titanium screw which fuses to the jawbone to provide a root-like structure, to which an artificial tooth crown can then be anchored to provide a permanent replacement.
Not all Adelaide dentists are qualified or experienced in all types of prosthetic dentistry, so be sure to choose a dentist which has the right skills to help you. For more information on our dentists’training & skills please click on Meet Our Team
Dental Pain Relief
Teeth can become painful for a variety of reasons, including decay, injury or impaction. We offer a variety of treatments to relieve dental pain & resolve problems such as dental infection and wisdom teeth. Most often dental pain is relieved either by removal of the problematic tooth or removal of the nerve within the tooth & subsequent treatment of this space (endodontic, or root canal treatment).
We are equipped with digital OPG for full-jaw x-ray & assessment of wisdom teeth for your convenience.
There are many options to help improve your smile! Whether you want to brighten your teeth, improve the appearance of your smile, or restore your tooth colour to a more youthful shade, there is an option for you.
Professional teeth whitening is a safe, easy way to whiten & brighten your teeth without changing their size, shape or position. While most people find home bleaching with a professionally made custom-fitted whitening kit to be the most convenient, we do also offer the option of single-visit in-chair whitening.
For more complex cosmetic dental treatment, an alternative option can be placing veneers. This can then alter the size & shape of the teeth, as well as change the colour, achieving results such as giving the appearance of straight & even teeth & closing gaps between the front teeth.
We will review the reports from both Dentist and Patient to give the best decision. It will take 3-5 business days for reviewing after receiving two reports.
