Pediatric Dentistry

Helping our youngest patients grow into healthy young adults is a highlight for our team. Children are constantly growing and require frequent checkups to ensure they are developing properly. With an early preventative hygiene plan, we can prevent childhood tooth decay and a lifetime of problems.

Our dentists believe a child’s visit to the dentist should be fun and not fearful, as these early appointments can determine how they view dental care for the rest of their lives. Dr. Sharan and Dr. Jason and their team are especially gentle and explain procedures to them in words that they can understand so that they do not have to be afraid. We offer frenectomies, silver diamine fluoride treatment, extractions, fillings, and root canals on baby teeth (pulpectomies).

• Veneers: veneers are the ultimate combination of dental art and science, handcrafted and customized to fit your smile. These paper-thin pieces of porcelain bond to the outside of your natural teeth to correct chips, stains, and even deeply discolored teeth. But they can also alter the length and size of teeth or even appear to correct their alignment. While it may sound dramatic, veneers provide a highly conservative approach to esthetic smile makeovers.
• Porcelain Crowns: Sometimes teeth are damaged because of cavities, heavy bite forces, or trauma. If a root canal is needed to salvage a compromised nerve, the tooth may be especially fragile. Dental crowns, or caps, allow these teeth to be rebuilt and covered with materials that mimic nature. Not only are most “capped” teeth indistinguishable from natural teeth, but they’re also extremely secure and comfortable. Crowns can be used to repair a single tooth, multiple teeth (including the entire mouth), or in conjunction with dental implants to fill a space. When missing teeth enter the equation, special consideration might be given to placing a dental bridge or implants.
• Onlays: Sometimes teeth suffer damage because of cavities, heavy bite forces, and trauma. While extensive damage may require a crown, some smaller fractures can be perfectly restored with an onlay. Onlays allow the unbroken portions of a tooth to be left uncut and add bond a custom piece of porcelain to the damaged area.
• Teeth whitening: coffee, tea, wine, tobacco, and chocolate can stain enamel surfaces and leave patients unhappy with their smiles. Though there are many products currently available in supermarkets and pharmacies, our in-office whitening can remove years of stain in about an hour. Alternatively, we can also make custom trays that fit your teeth for whitening at home. Together we’ll find the right system for your situation, sometimes even relying on a combination of the two methods for maximum short and long-term benefits.
